Camilla Anderson

Camilla Anderson passed away at Scandia Village in Sister Bay
on Wednesday, October 27, 2010, just 25 days before her 100th birthday.
She was born on Washington Island to Danish immigrant parents, Knud and Kirsten
Hansen.on November 21, 1910. She was the last survivor of 7 siblings, including
2 sets of twins.
Camilla married Orbie Anderson on September 23, 1933, and they made
Sister Bay their home all their married life, Orbie passed away November
20, 1997. They were blessed with 2 sons, Henry of Shreveport, Lousiana,
and Steven of Sister Bay, who survive along with 6 grandchildren, 3
great- grandchildren, cousin, Delores( Lawrence) Peterson of
Racine, WI. sister-in-law, Muriel Hansen of Kenosha, WI, nephew, Lou Hansen of
of Lake Forest, IL. and very special grand nieces, Margaret and Hannah.
Camilla was never idle. She worked for 27 years at Hotel DuNord, and
then another 17 years at Gage, Inc. and didn't retire until she was almost 80.
She loved her garden, and could be found on her hands and knees lovingly
planting fall bulbs and spring plants. She also could be found making bread
or other delicacies to be used at home or shared with others. She took
wonderful care of Orbie and Steve, and in return Steve took wonderful
care of her.
Funeral Services will be held Monday November 1 st at 11 :00 A.M. with
the family receiving guests from 10:00 to the time of services. Burial will be
in Little Sister Cemetey. Donations may be made to either Bethal Baptist Church,
Ellison Bay, WI. 54210 or Scandia Village, Sister Bay, Wi. 54234.
