Carl “Duke” Quentin Lee, 85, of Gills Rock, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at his home.
He was born on January 14, 1936 to Carl Qualley and Gertrude Lena (Kuechler) Lee in Zion, IL. Carl graduated from Zion Benton Township School and went on to Lakeforest College and Manchester College (Church of the Brethren). He also served in the United States Army Reserves. Duke married Patsy May Mintern on October 27, 1963, in Zion, IL.
Duke worked as an HVAC salesman for Midway Supply, Lenox, Moran Supply, and Generac. With his partners, he founded the company Illinois Geothermal Engineering. Duke retired in 1999. After retirement, Duke worked as a docent at Door County Maritime Museum in Gills Rock. He was a member of Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church in Ellison Bay where he served on various committees through the years. Spending time with family and friends meant the world to him. Duke also enjoyed helping others.
Duke will be deeply missed by his wife, Patsy; son, Daniel Lee of Prague, Czech Republic; sister, Judith Burrows of Fort Wayne, IN.; niece, Kristin (Jeff) Sine; and nephew, Mark Burrows.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, Donn T. Burrows.
Per Duke’s wishes there will not be any formal services.
