Christine Lindenberg Obituary

Christine Karen Lindenberg, 67, passed away in the comfort of her home on January 4, 2022, in the Town of Liberty Grove.

Chris was born on April 19, 1954 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Howard Henry Kopp and Mildred Estelle (Gentzen) Kopp and graduated from Woodstock High School with the class of 1972.

She married Terry Blaine Lindenberg on July 31, 1976 “under the old oak tree” at their home in Crystal Lake, IL. Soon after, they moved to Door County, WI and made their home in Sister Bay and then Liberty Grove.

Chris worked at several places in the service industry in Door County, including the Sister Bay Bowl for 16 years. She and Terry maintained their own cleaning and caretaking business. She also took care of the bookkeeping for Terry’s snow plowing service and construction business, Appleport Builders. In the midst of all these efforts, Chris took the greatest pride in caring for her family and home. She was very sentimental, embracing family memories and nurturing traditions.

Chris had a passion for gardening, evident by the beautiful flower beds around the house and yard. She operated a vegetable stand for several years to share the vegetables from the garden that she impeccably kept. Chris also enjoyed cooking and baking and was known to deliver her wonderful masterpieces to family and friends.  Her pies and apple crisp were among her family’s favorites. Chris was an avid reader and loved to sing and dance especially to the sounds of soul and Motown.

She will be missed by her husband, Terry, with whom she shared over 45 years of marriage; children, Kelly (Andy) Ewaskowitz of the Town of Liberty Grove, Bradley (Trish) Lindenberg of Sister Bay, and Tony (Amy) Gorham of the Town of Liberty Grove; grandchildren, Mallory (Jim) Seymour, Megan (Will) Hartwig, and Nathan Ewaskowitz, Solomon Lindenberg, Sam Lindenberg, and Liam Lindenberg, Madison Tishler, Mikala Gorham, and Lilly Gorham; sister, Sandy (Lenny) Hay; sister-in-law, Susan (Dennis) Bhirdo; and special cousin, Scott (Kathy) Wizniak.

Chris was preceded in death by her parents; and other relatives.

Her life will be honored by family at a later date, when the flowers are in bloom.

Casperson Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Sister Bay is assisting the Lindenberg family. Expressions of sympathy, memories, and photos of Chris may be shared with her family through her tribute page at www.caspersonfuneralhome.com.
