Darrell G. Remsing

Darrell Grant Remsing, an 89-year-old resident of Serenity Spring Senior Living in Scandia Village, Sister Bay, Wisconsin, passed away on September 13, 2025, due to a short respiratory illness and a prolonged battle with chronic lung disease. Darrell was most recently from Mission, Texas, but had previously resided in Dunn Center, North Dakota, Milwaukee, and Elcho, Wisconsin.

He was born on October 13, 1935, in Dunn Center, North Dakota, to Matt Remsing and Goldie Remsing Brown. Darrell attended Dunn Center High School and graduated in 1953. He enlisted in the Army in 1954 and later graduated from the North Dakota State University in 1960.

On May 22, 1960, he married Joanne Brunsvold, and they celebrated their 65th anniversary in 2025.

Darrell worked as a civil engineer for the City of Milwaukee for thirty years.

Darrell enjoyed spending time with his family as well as hunting, fishing, and collecting.

Darrell will be missed by his wife, Joanne, of Sister Bay, Wisconsin; his children David (Barb) Remsing of Grafton, WI; Sandra (Brad) Clarke, of Sturgeon Bay, WI; and Cathy (Frank) Matel, of Wausau, WI. Darrell's loved ones also include his grandchildren, Jake Clarke, Tony Clarke, Andrew Clarke, Holly Glassford, and Matt Matel as well as his sister Beverly Trinka of Rochester, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings, William, Marilyn, and Donovan.

Darrell's life will be honored with a Memorial Service held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, 150202 County Road NN, Wausau, WI 54401 with Pastor Jack Busche officiating.
