Diane J. Thorpe

     Diane J. Thorpe, 79, of Sister Bay, passed away Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Door County Medical Center in Sturgeon Bay.

     She was born February  4, 1945 in Madison, the daughter of the late Paul and Irene (Seeliger) Johnson. Diane graduated from Madison East High School in 1963 and received her associate degree at Madison Area Technical College. Diane started her career at the UW space astronomy lab, then worked for Oscar Mayer. She later retired from AT&T in 2006 after 20 years of employment.

     On June 12, 1965 she married Craig M. Thorpe at Madison UCC. They resided in Sun Prairie for 41 years and then, in retirement, made Door County their home in 2006.

     She was a member of the Sister Bay Moravian Church. Diane enjoyed stamping, crafting and was talented at making custom greeting cards.

     Surviving family include her husband, Craig of Sister Bay; two children, Audra Thorpe of Sun Prairie, Justin (Tara) Thorpe of Madison; two granddaughters, Rhone and Sofia; and her brother, Gary Johnson of Fitchburg.

     Service arrangements are pending at this time.
