Doris Kathryn Ohnesorge

Doris Kathryn Ohnesorge, 78, of the Town of Gibraltar, fell asleep in the loving arms of her family at home and awoke in the arms of the Lord, Wednesday morning, July 24, 2024.

She was born September 28, 1945 in Sturgeon Bay, the daughter of Charles Kermit Kellstrom and Marion Mae (Sterling) Kellstrom. Doris grew up in Sister Bay and attended grade school in Sister Bay and Sister Bay Moravian Church. Doris graduated from Gibraltar High School with the class of 1963. 

On April 5, 1976, she married Douglas Robert Ohnesorge at the Sister Bay Moravian Church. They resided together in the Town of Gibraltar.

Doris was employed at various places over the years, but above all, she was a loving, caring, and devoted wife and mother for her family at home. She was blessed with two children: Bruce and Kim.

Doris' Christian faith remained with her throughout her life. She enjoyed reading the Bible and attending Bible Study.

Doris will be missed by her husband, Doug, with whom she shared over 48 years of marriage; children, Bruce (Devan) Wagner of Dover, FL and Kim (Jery Bochek) Wagner Lodl of Sturgeon Bay; grandchildren, Savannah (Nick Chipman) Wagner and Catherine Wagner, and Christopher and Daniel Lodl; great-granddaughters, Emma and Avery; siblings-in-law, Roger Ohnesorge, Dolores Lent, and Susan Kwaterski, all of the Town of Gibraltar; many nieces and nephews; other relatives; and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Charles and Marion Kellstrom; siblings, Joyce (Arthur Jr. "Art") Alwes and James (Sharon) Kellstrom; siblings-in-law, Marybeth Ohnesorge, Roger Lent, and Richard "Rick" Kwaterski; and other relatives.

Doris’ life will be honored by family with a private graveside service with Pastor Gary Scharrig officiating. She will be laid to rest in Blossomberg Cemetery in Peninsula State Park in Fish Creek.
