Eileen A. Koelpien, 77 years of Sturgeon Bay died late Sunday November 21, 2021, at Door County Medical Center.
She was born November 25, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of the late Rudolf and Betty (Holzmann) Bokelmann. She attended Wildwood School in Liberty Grove, Gibraltar Area Schools in Fish Creek, and graduated from McArthur High School in Hollywood, Florida before receiving her associate degree as a Medical Assistant at Triton College in Chicago. Eileen had worked in the health care industry most of her working career. She last worked at Holy Family Hospital in Manitowoc.
On April 6, 1963 in Chicago, Illinois, she married Norman W. Koelpien. He preceded her in death on August 19, 1995. She returned to Door County full time in 2011.
Eileen was a member of the Bay Area Bonsai Society and Door County Learning in Retirement at NWTC.
Survivors include her two sons, Jeffrey (Paula) Koelpien of Green Bay, Greg (Deanna) Koelpien of Sturgeon Bay; her life partner, Gerald Falk of Sturgeon Bay; two grandchildren, Emily and William Koelpien; two brothers, Paul (Betty Lou) Bokelmann of Sister Bay, and Karl Bokelmann (and Cheryl) of Baileys Harbor.
A memorial gathering will be held and announced at a future date.
