Eleanor “Ellie” Jean Womeldorf, 62 of Marshfield, Wisconsin passed away
peacefully and was received by her Savior’s Loving Arms on Sunday, February 25,
2024 in Pueblo, Colorado. Defying odds and doctors predictions she survived long
enough to be surrounded by family before succumbing to head injuries sustained
from a seizure she sustained while traveling.
Born on September 14, 1961 in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, the youngest daughter
of the late Steven and Ethel (Kronstedt) Moscinski. Ellie enjoyed school as much
for the social aspect as the studies. While she had many childhood school friends,
her most treasured were an extended family of brothers, sisters, nieces and
nephews. She graduated from Stevens Point Area Senior High in 1980 and
attended school for medical imaging. During that time, she married Thomas
Haffenbredl . Although they later divorced, the two raised their two sons, Craig
Haffenbredl and Brent Haffenbredl.
Her love for life and concern for others led her into two major occupations. For
the first half of her career, she tried to help others through health care, spending
20 years in various medical centers. For the last 2 decades, Ellie created her own
business, shifting her focus from diagnosis to prevention. She championed high
quality products and spearheaded efforts for better vitamins, cleaner water,
bigger crop yields, and less chemicals in the hope of making everyone healthier.
Her devotion to others continues through the gift of organ and tissue donation.
Ellie’s amazing quick wit, huge smile and distractive laugh had an enduring impact
on others. Her love of sports, competition, and the great outdoors led her to
spend nights and weekends on local softball fields as well as camping, hiking, and
biking. When kept indoors, she was a ferocious reader, filling her shelves,
vehicles, and nightstands with never ending stacks of books. A talented quilter,
she had an eye for unusual patterns, bright colors, and unique fabrics. She
watched for reasons to celebrate others’ successes and was looking forward to
entertaining fantastic parties at her place.
She will forever remembered for her ability to see the best in people, her love of
creating joy for others, and her wise-cracking shenanigans. She lived her DASH in
her own outspoken way, serving others and developing a profound faith in God
and in people.
Ellie especially loved combining these values during Christmas. Each year was
spectacular mash up of fantastic mountains of food, faithful hours of church, fun
times with family, invitations to neighbors and friends, anyone who didn’t have
plans, and of course, Maxx the dog on The Grinch.
As always, the most important people to her were family. She loved to proudly
tell stories and embarrass her sons, Craig and Brent. Although business, travel
and complexities of life made finding quality time with them difficult, she always
welcomed their arrival with a big hug and turned to a “sobbing pile of water”
upon their departure. Craig and his wife, Sydney, recently welcomed Ellie’s
newest love, granddaughter, Mia. She looked forward to every visit, showering
Mia with books, blocks, and giant stuffed animals.
Ellie is further survived by her sisters, Rita Bemke, Janet Iwanski, Marlyce
Kawleski, Marie Panko and her husband Don, and Eileen Pankratz and her
husband Tom. She also had two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Moscinski and Joanie
Moscinski, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Steven and Ethel; brothers, Gerald,
James and David Moscinski; brothers-in-law, LaVern Bemke, Bob Wooldridge, Alois
Iwanski and Jack Kawleski; niece, Anita Bemke, nephews, Alan Bemke and Ron
Moscinski; and well as other relatives and friends.
A celebration of Ellie’s life will be held on June 29th, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. – 7:00
p.m. at the Auburndale Park Shelter House, 10654 Park Avenue, Auburndale, WI.
Her departure comes as a great shock and a deep wound, and it is gravely felt by
her entire family and countless others who loved her. The family deeply
appreciates your support during this difficult time and asks that in lieu of flowers,
any donations or contributions be sent to Craig Haffenbredl and Brent Haffenbredl
at 9940 County Road H, Marshfield, WI 54449 for a memorial which will be
established at a later date.
