Franklyn Rodger Forkert

Franklyn Rodger Forkert, age 96 of Sister Bay, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2025.

He was born in Chicago, IL to Otto Maurice Forkert and Ella Wheeler (Smith) Forkert.

Frank traveled the world extensively. He loved the water and was an accomplished sailor. After retiring from Running Anchor Marine in Sister Bay, Frank and his wife Jan spent summers cruising on Puget Sound and volunteering for the Door County Maritime Museum.

Frank is survived by two sons, Russell and Gordon; daughter, Julie; grandson, Sam; and great grandson, Mack.

He was preceded in death by two wives, Nancy and Janie; and a son, Rodger.

Frank’s final wishes were not to have any formal services.
