Herbert Allen Prust, Jr.

     Herbert Allen Prust, Jr., age 87 of Baileys Harbor, passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, in Algoma.

     Herbert was born on June 5, 1936, to the late Herbert and Hildagard (Reinhard) Prust, Sr., in Fish Creek, WI. He is a 1954 graduate of Gibraltar High School. Herbert was united in marriage to Loretta Mary Reinhardt on October 20, 1956, at Immanuel Lutheran Church – Baileys Harbor. She preceded him in death on August 18, 2020.

     Herbert was a grader and bulldozer operator.  He also was a farmer and a Door County cherry grower. He enjoyed fixing things, small engine repair, and tinkering on much needed projects.

     Herbert is survived by his children, Linda Prust Sibilsky (special friend, Rob Valentine), David (June) Prust, and Donald (Vicki) Prust; grandchildren, Amanda (Brandon) Wautier, Jessica (Alex) Sura, Samantha Prust, Alexander Prust, Bradley Prust, and Zachary Prust; great-grandchildren, Kaiden, Hailey, and Gavin Wautier and Makenna Sura; sister, Dolores (Robert) Spittlemeister. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

     He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Loretta, parents, and twin sister, Helen (Robert) Mueller.

     A memorial service will be held for Herbert on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church - Baileys Harbor with Rev. Gary Scharrig officiating.  Inurnment will be in the Baileys Harbor Town Cemetery. Visitation will be at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Herbert’s name.
