Jean Tennes Reynolds, 92, of Ephraim, passed away surrounded by family on January 18, 2026, at Serenity Spring Senior Living at Scandia Village in Sister Bay, WI.
She was born April 18, 1933 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Joseph and Georgianne Tennes. Jean graduated from Northwestern University where she met her husband George M Reynolds who preceded her in death. They married in 1957 and moved to the Milwaukee area where she raised her family. Summers and holidays were spent in Ephraim until she moved there permanently in 2000.
Jean would tell you her greatest joy and accomplishment were her 6 children who survive her, Michael (Christine), Susan (Michael), Karen, Gayle (Flip), Stephan, and Andrew (Julia). Jean also cherished her 15 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Jean was an educator, artist and dedicated volunteer who worked quietly behind the scenes without thought of recognition. She was a lifelong Catholic and faith filled friend to all those who met her. Jean enjoyed learning and travel, golf and gardening. You could often spot her walking through her beautiful village of Ephraim which she did almost daily.
The family would like to thank the staff at Serenity Springs and Unity Hospice for their kind and compassionate care that Jean received as she gently finished her earthly journey.
Jean's life will be honored with a Mass of Christian Burial held at 11:00 am on Friday, February 27, 2026 at Stella Maris Parish-Sister Bay site with Fr. Tom Farrell officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held at the church on Friday, February 27, 2026 from 9:30 am to 10:45 am.
She will be laid to rest in Ephraim Moravian Cemetery in Ephraim. A celebration of her life will take place in the summer of 2026.
Memorials may be given in her name to the Ephraim Historical Foundation where she spent many years as a docent.
