John "Jack" Edwin Parsons

     John “Jack” Edwin Parsons, 74, of Washington Island, went Home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 10, 2020.

     He was born May 14, 1946 in Buffalo, NY, the son of the late Earl Vincent Parsons and Annette Hatti (Bartz) Parsons. After graduating from high school, Jack enlisted in the United States Coast Guard and proudly served his country until his honorable discharge in 1968. While he was stationed on Plum Island, he met his future wife, Kristi Rae Anderson. The two were united in marriage on May 31, 1967 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church on Washington Island.

     Jack will be missed by his loving wife of 53 years, Kristi; sons, Ronald (Patti) and Matthew (Peggy Sue); the joy and love of his life, his grandsons, Jarod and Zach; and sister, Diane Elizabeth (Dick) Buyer.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Annette Parsons; and brother, Douglas Frederick Parsons.

     Jack’s life will be honored with a graveside service at the Washington Island Town Cemetery on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Rick Smith, of Bethel Ev. Free Church, officiating. Military honors will follow the service.

     In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Jack’s name to Bethel Ev. Free Church, 1821 Main Rd., Washington Island, WI 54246.
