Born on May 28th,1967 crossed the bridge to his place in heaven July 3rd, 2024 after a long battle with ALS (AKA Lou Gehrig’s Disease). Joe graduated from MATC with a degree in Architecture and used that knowledge to design a large addition to the family’s home in his beloved Door County and to help out at his brother’s business, Lighthouse Safety LLC in Brookfield, WI populating CAD drawings and researching building and roof layouts.
Joe was a master woodworker who also enjoyed creating amazing gifts for family and friends. His wood creations were also sold at the Domicile in Sister Bay. He was a history buff with special emphasis on military and aviation topics. The EAA was a favored event.
He, and his wife, Kay McBride, were avid Brewers fans starting each season with a trip to Spring Training in AZ. They also were active participants in the Bristol Renaissance Faire and had a very close-knit band of neighbors in their Milwaukee community. Joe was also a dog lover extraordinaire. No one doubts that he is happy in heaven throwing balls to Bridjett & Tymar. He is greatly missed by Angus. Joe was a true computer geek and gamer who was able to successfully pull Kay into his gaming world. Joe was also a remarkable “MacGyver” who never retreated from a challenge. He was also a warrior, beating two bouts of cancer and accepting his ALS diagnosis with grace and love for his friends and family.
Joe is very much missed by his wife of 11 years, Kay McBride; his mother, Lynn Corriveau; his daughter, Kimberly (Jason) Fowler; his sister, Anne (Dan) Kratz; his brother, John (Mary) Corriveau; and brother, Charles Corriveau. He will also be missed by many extended family members and all members of their Neighborhood Fire Pit Gang. Please remember Joe as he was before and not what he became as a result of the horrid soul-sapping disease called ALS.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Monday, October 14, 2024 at Stella Maris – Sister Bay Site with Fr. Thomas Farrell officiating.
Visitation for family and friends will be at 11:00 a.m. at the church prior to the service.
