Kaye Rogers-Ketterling, 86 of Ellison Bay, passed away at her home on Tuesday, July 15, 2025.
Kaye was a fourth generation Door County resident and the only child born to Vera (Marshall) and Winfield Rogers on March 11, 1939 in Ellison Bay. Her youth was spent on the Samuel Rogers' family generational farm in Rowleys Bay. Kaye first attended a one-room schoolhouse in Liberty Grove and graduated from Gibraltar High School in 1957. She married Gerald Anderson of Sister Bay February 20th, 1960. They raised their three children in Oconomowoc in Southeastern Wisconsin. She pursued a degree at UW-Milwaukee and worked mostly in secretarial and computer software sales. She moved to the Mequon area in 1990 and opened a bookstore known as the Little Professor Bookstore.
She married Dr. Marvin Ketterling in 1992. Together they enjoyed traveling and took memorable trips, notably with Bjorklunden to Italy. In the winters they split time between Phoenix and Door County and especially enjoyed time spent in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. During her Door County summers she took multiple summer courses at Bjorklunden, cooking classes at the Savory Spoon and was a strong supporter of the Mid-Summer Music Festival.
Kaye was very proud to be able to see her children and grandchildren achieve their college and advanced degrees. She loved classical music, reading, her book clubs, traveling, cooking and gardening.
Survivors include her three children, Hans (Denine) Anderson of Chicago, Dr. Margaret Anderson of Hood River, Oregon and Sister Bay, Dr. Anita (Dr. Jan Bublik) Bublik-Anderson of Wausau and Sister Bay; and grandchildren, Nathan, Claire, Max, Maddie, Milana, Andy, and Campbell.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Vera and Winfield Rogers; and her husband, Dr. Marvin Ketterling.
The family would like to thank the care and generosity of Drs. Todd and Binard, the nurses and staff at Door County Medical Center, and Unity Hospice.
Gifts in memorium can be sent to Door County Land Trust, Mid-Summer Music, or St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Sister Bay.
