Lois J. Johnson, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and mother-in-law, passed away on May 20, 2024, at the age of 84.
She was born on March 9, 1940, to the late Arthur and Grace (Larson) Landstrom of Sister Bay. Lois graduated from Gibraltar High School in 1958. She married Dean Johnson in 1962. They welcomed two daughters – Melissa and Melanie. Dean and Lois owned Johnson Mobil Service in Ellison Bay for many years, and later, Johnson Oil Company.
Lois had many interests and hobbies, including flower gardening, decorating, and finding recipes in cookbooks – both old and new. She enjoyed attending local music concerts and going on rides around the area – especially Peninsula State Park. She loved family vacations in Wisconsin Dells and Branson, Missouri, and finding antique treasures. She always looked forward to campfires and picnics with her family. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandson Jeremy.
She is survived by her daughters Melissa (Kevin) Buman, Melanie Johnson, and grandson Jeremy Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her sister Patricia.
At Lois’s request, there will be no memorial service. Lois will be laid to rest with her husband Dean at Little Sister Cemetery.
