Lois Ann Schmitz (nee Weiss), of Sister Bay and formerly of Oak Creek, Wisconsin, was born to eternal life on October 2, 2025, at the age of 92.
She was born on November 25, 1932, to the late William and Minnie (Sauer) Weiss in Milwaukee.
Lois is a retiree of Bucyrus Erie International where she worked in the Purchasing Department and ended her career as a Senior Buyer. She was on the board of the Okoa Toto Children's Home built in Kenya and a proud sponsor of Brightson.
Lois was a faith-filled woman and gave her time serving the poor through donations and serving meals for almost 30 years at St. Ben's in Milwaukee. She loved working in her yard, fishing, traveling and especially spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Cynthia (Luis) Padilla, Karen (William Corbett) Schaefer, Mary Ann Schaefer, Janet (James Wesley) Wood, and Teresa (Jeffrey) Erickson; her step-children, Gerard (special friend Pam Joy) Schmitz, Marynell (Olga Falcon) Lubinski, John Schmitz, Theodore Schmitz, Sue Schmitz, and Kathleen (Doug Pierce) Schmitz; her brother James Weiss; sister-in-law Sr. Mary Ann Schmitz; grandchildren; step-grandchildren; great grandchildren; and step-great grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Schaefer and second husband John T. Schmitz, MD; her parents, William and Minnie Weiss; brother, William (Maureen) Weiss; sisters, Mary Weiss, and Kathleen (Joseph) Geletko; step daughter-in-law, Darcy Schmitz; step daughter-in-law, Jayne Schmitz; step son-in-law, Bill Bergstrom; and sister- in-law, Mary Lou Weiss.
There will be two services to honor Lois's life. A memorial service will be held at Serenity Spring Senior Living at Scandia Village -10560 Applewood Rd, Sister Bay, on October 16, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. where Lois lived the last two and a half years. Visitation will be held after the memorial.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Matthew's Church - 9303 S. Chicago Rd, Oak Creek, WI 53154, at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, with Fr. Johny Amaladasan officiating. Inurnment to follow at St. Matthew's Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held at church on Wednesday from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Okoa Toto (www.okoatoto.org) would be appreciated.
