Loretta Prust Obituary

Loretta Mary Prust, 83, of Baileys Harbor, passed away on August 18, 2020 at the Door County Medical Center in Sturgeon Bay.

She was born October 10, 1936 in Sturgeon Bay, daughter of the late Leonard Eugene and Mary Madeline (Maccaux) Reinhardt. Loretta attended Gibraltar High School and graduated with the class of 1955. Loretta worked as a waitress for the Sandpiper in Baileys Harbor for 18 years. On October 20, 1956 she married Herbert Prust at Immanuel Lutheran Church, where the two have been longtime members. Loretta taught Sunday school at church while raising her children. She enjoyed gardening but most of all, being a loving grandmother and spending time with her grandchildren.

Loretta will be missed by her husband of nearly 64 years, Herbert Prust; children, Linda Prust Sibilsky (special friend, Rob Valentine), David (June Kita) Prust, and Donald (Vicki Johnson) Prust; grandchildren, Amanda (Brandon) Wautier, Jessica (Alex) Sura, Samantha Prust, Alexander Prust, Bradley Prust, and Zachary Prust; great-grandchildren, Kaiden, Hailey, and Gavin Wautier and Makenna Sura; sisters-in-law, Geraldine Reinhardt, Dolores (Robert) Spittlemeister, and Helen Mueller; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bernard Reinhardt and sister, Betty (Ralph) Gray.

Loretta's life was honored with a private memorial service at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Baileys Harbor. She was laid to rest in Baileys Harbor Town Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in her name to Door CANcer, Inc. or Immanuel Lutheran Church.
