Margaret Theresa (Kadzban) Richards

Margaret "Marge" Theresa Richards passed away Monday, October 21, 2024, at Sister Bay, Wisconsin.

She was born in Berwyn, Illinois to Bernice and John Kadzban and grew up in Cicero, Illinois. She graduated from Morton East High School. In 1948, she began dating Ray Richards, an Army veteran and neighbor who lived two houses down the street. They married on October 30, 1948. They started their family with daughter, Barbara, who was born in 1949, followed by daughter, Jane, in 1951, and daughter, Annie, who was born in 1953. Marge lost Annie, who passed away in 1957, at age 4.

In 1963, the Richards family bought a home in Lagrange, Illinois. The family enjoyed doing activities together such as visiting Chicago's beaches and museums, taking the girls for horseback lessons and going on drives in the country.

Marge worked as a secretary for many years until she began caring for her mother, Bernice, in the 1990s. She was always very athletic, excelling at volleyball, swimming and bicycling.

Sadly, Ray passed away in 1979. Following the loss of Ray, and over the course of many visits to Door County, Marge became close to Fish Creek local Jerry Wesa, owner of Edgewater Cottages in Fish Creek. Eventually the pair would build a home together on Spring Road in Fish Creek. Marge and Jerry enjoyed boating, gardening, attending plays at Peninsula Players and dining at Door County's many fine restaurants until Jerry passed away in 2020. After Jerry's passing, Marge moved into Scandia Village in Sister Bay where she made many new friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray Richards; daughter, Ann Richards; and partner, Jerry Wesa.

Marge is survived by daughters, Barbara Jones and Jane Becker.
