Marilyn “Missy” Medl Kjellenberg

     Marilyn “Missy” Medl Kjellenberg, age 88 of Sister Bay, passed away on Friday, August 2, 2024, in Green Bay.

     She was born on January 28, 1936, to the late Robert and Roberta Medl in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Missy was united in marriage to Evan M. Kjellenberg in Evanston, IL. He preceded her in death on January 18, 2018. The couple was blessed with two children, Todd and Suzanne.

     The family enjoyed vacationing in Door County, spending many weekends in Rowleys Bay. The couple eventually purchased a home in Sister Bay, becoming permanent residents.

     One of Missy’s favorite hobbies was weaving. She would spend many hours creating beautiful tapestries and other textiles. Some of her tapestries hung in business in Illinois and in Door County. The one thing she loved more than her loom, was her family.

     Missy is survived by her son, Todd (Paula) Kjellenberg and grandchildren, Shane Kjelleberg and Shannon (Nick) Maldonado. She is further survived by extended family and friends.

     She was preceded in death by her husband, Evan; her daughter; parents; and one brother, Robert Medl, Jr.

     A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at The Clearing, 12171 Garrett Bay Rd, Ellison Bay, WI 54210, from noon until 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wisconsin Humane Society – Door County Campus in Missy’s name, or to a memorial fund that was set up in Suzanne Kjellenberg name and may be directed to Todd Kjellenberg.
