     Michael L. Honold, son of Donald “Buck” and Sharon (nee Kiehnau) was born in Door County, WI on March 22, 1975.  His childhood was happily spent in Door County, and he was a proud graduate of Gibraltar High School.  He earned his bachelor’s degree in Geography from Carthage College.  On September 8, 2018, near his childhood home, Mike was joined together in holy matrimony to Cara Garbarino. Soon after their marriage, they found their home in Union Grove. Whence God blessed them with the gift of a child, Emrie June.

     Mike loved spending time with family, especially his daughter, Emrie. The giggles they had together warmed the room. He was a dedicated co-owner of Rivals Sports Pub & Grille and operated Lake Andrea Beer Garden.  He loved his customers, many of whom became close friends.  Mike loved fly fishing, hunting, coaching football, yacht rock, and good bourbon.  Mike was an avid Wisconsin sports fan and a loyal political activist. Mike knew Jesus as his lord and savior and was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

     On Sunday, November 24, 2024, God called Mike home to heaven.  Mike is survived by his wife, Cara; parents; daughters, Adelya Komornicka and Emrie Honold; and sister, Kari Honold.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the family for Emrie’s education would be appreciated.

     Services for Mike will be held Saturday, November 30, 2024 at 1:00 pm at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Union Grove.  Relatives and friends may visit with the family from 9:30 am until 12:30 pm at the church.  Burial will follow at Union Grove Cemetery.
