Mildred Johanna Jacobsen, 94, passed away on September 18, 2021 at her home on Washington Island surrounded by her family.

Mildred was born to Norman Koebel and Emma (Rahr) Koebel on September 7, 1927 in Plymouth. She graduated from Plymouth High School. Mildred married Paul Goodman on August 17, 1946. They lived on Washington Island, where they had four children. They moved to Menomonee Falls in 1965.  After her husband’s death in June of 1977, she moved back to Washington Island, where she worked cleaning cottages at McDonald’s Cottages and Findlay’s Holiday Inn. She formed many lasting friendships, especially with Gloria Harper; they were known by many as “Glo and Moe”. She married Duane “Dewey” Jacobsen on April 21, 1990.

Mildred was active in the American Legion Auxiliary and attended Trinity Lutheran and Bethel Churches. In earlier years, she was a 4H leader and sang in the church choir.  Mildred and Dewey loved dancing and traveling. They also enjoyed hosting family and friends in their Washington Island home.

Mildred is survived by her husband, Dewey; daughter, Ruth Wieting; son, Matthew (Jill) Goodman; daughters-in-law, Debra Goodman and Patti Goodman; stepson, Jens (Becky) Jacobsen; stepdaughter, Katharyn Moore; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Mary Jergenson and LaVonne Mann.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Paul; sons, Norman and Paul Goodman; son-in-law, John Wieting; great-granddaughter, Katherine Frett; brothers, Roy and Norbert Koebel; and sister, Lorraine Hunick.
