Pamela Slaby

     Pamela “Pam” Slaby, 72, formerly of Crystal Lake, IL and  Fish Creek, WI, now Luxemburg, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2023 at St. Vincent Hospital following a sudden illness.

     Pam was born March 8, 1950 in Chicago, IL the daughter of the late Thomas and Jean (Carlson) Puralewski. She graduated from Crystal Lake Community High School in 1967.

     Pam worked as an executive secretary to the president of Nations Bank in Chicago until her retirement. With familiar family connections in Door County, she would meet Fredric A. Slaby at Ray’s Cherry Hut which he owned while Fred was working, and Pam was looking for a sweater. One thing led to another, and they were married in Sturgeon Bay on June 2, 1995. Following the sale of the Cherry Hut, they moved to Green Bay and eventually to their home in Luxemburg.

     She is survived by her husband, Fred; sister, Barbara (Paul) Olinick; brother, Dale (Doreen) Puralewski; Fred’s daughters, Cindy (Harold Jacques) Slaby of Green Bay, Mallory Rafson of Algoma; sister-in-law, Beverly Puralewski; nieces, Beth (Olinick) Horton, Larissa Puralewski Lyon; great-niece, Hannah Horton; great-nephews, Henry Horton and Thomas Lyon.

     Preceding her in death was her first husband, Andrew Stolnack; her parents, Thomas and Jean (Carlson) Puralewski; and her brother, Thomas Puralewski.

     Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2023 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Juddville, WI with Pastor Frank Kauzlarich officiating. Burial will be at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.

     Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m.
