Patricia J. Fagerstrom, 93, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Door County Medical Center, Sturgeon Bay.
Pat was born on March 7, 1933, in Chicago to the late Dell and Dorothy (Sefton) Berriman. She moved to Sister Bay after her marriage to Glen Fagerstrom in 1959.
Pat was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Sister Bay, serving in various Christian Education capacities, as well as other jobs. She assisted in Glen’s electrical enterprises until his retirement in 1990. She and Glen very much enjoyed the 14 years they traveled via RV with SOWERS (Servants on Wheels Ever Ready), a non-denominational ministry to needy Christian missions where she did whatever was needed--sewing, cooking, office work, etc., while Glen used his electrical talents.
After Glen’s death on June 28, 2012, Pat left the home they built in 1969 and moved to The Meadows of Scandia Village where she was involved in activities and happily served where needed. In Pat’s later years, the old Polio Virus (which she overcame at age 7) slowed her activities down, but she continued what she was able to do.
She is survived by her son, Russell (Rita), Green Bay; three grandchildren, Brittany Fagerstrom, Eric (Lovelyn) Fagerstrom, and Scheri Mathaya; and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Glen; her daughter, Lisa Mathaya; her parents; and brothers-in-law, Rudy, Donald, Vincent; and sisters-in-law, Ruth, Mary, Masako and Helen.
Pat’s favorite Bible verse: Jeremiah 29:11 “I know the plans I have for you says the Lord, they are plans for good and not for evil. Plans to give you a future and a hope”.
A memorial service is being planned for summer 2026.
Memorials may be given in Pat’s name to the First Baptist Church, 2262 S. Bay Shore Dr, Sister Bay, or Samaritan’s Purse, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.
