Patricia Moegenburg Obituary

Patricia Ann Moegenburg, 87, of Sister Bay, formerly of Baileys Harbor, was called home to be with the Lord Sunday night, March 29, 2020 at Door County Medical Center in Sturgeon Bay.

She was born July 6, 1932 in Sturgeon Bay, the daughter of Eugene and Gladys (Hickey) Heald. Pat attended grade school in Baileys Harbor and graduated from Gibraltar High School in 1950. Upon graduation, she enrolled in secretarial classes in Milwaukee where she also worked for a year before returning home to Door County. She was united in marriage to Clayton Martin Moegenburg (whom she attended high school with) in 1953 at her home parish of St. Mary of the Lake in Baileys Harbor. They were blessed with over 59 years of marriage. Clayton passed away January 13, 2013.

Pat was employed with Christy Corporation before going to work for Peterson Builders, Inc., both in Sturgeon Bay. While at PBI, she was an office manager and also helped with accounting for over 40 years until her retirement. Pat resided in Baileys Harbor nearly her entire life until July of 2018 when she moved into the Meadows (apartments) at Good Samaritan Society-Scandia Village in Sister Bay.

She was a lifelong member of St. Mary of Mary Lake Parish in Baileys Harbor (now Stella Maris Parish-Baileys Harbor site) and helped serve for numerous funeral lunches over the years. Pat was also a former member of the Baileys Harbor Women’s Club. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed ice skating on Kangaroo Lake and snowmobiling with family earlier in life, working in her yard, and golfing at Maxwelton Braes in Baileys Harbor. Above all, Pat loved her family and spending time her grandchildren.

She will be missed by her two sons, Scott (Pamela Butler) Moegenburg of Baileys Harbor and Jay (Kay) Moegenburg of Daytona Beach, FL; five grandchildren, Jeremy (Jeanna), Amanda, and Sara Moegenburg, and Kyle and Mitchell (Amanda Ritter) Moegenburg; six great-grandchildren, Clayton and Emory, Axel, and Sophia, Mason, and Milo; and other relatives.

Pat was reunited with her parents; husband; two brothers, William (Margo) Heald and Richard (Michelle) Heald; her “true love” Dusty (her Yorkie); and other relatives.

Pat’s life will be honored at a later date, when the public health gathering restrictions are alleviated. She will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s of the Lake Cemetery in Baileys Harbor, beside her husband, Clayton.

Memorials may be given in her name for Wisconsin Humane Society-Door County Campus (formerly the Door County Humane Society).
