On Thursday, February 2, 2023, Quinn Thomas Mulligan, 51, of South Ozone Park, Queens, NY, joined our Lord in Heaven. "The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.” Numbers 6: 24-26
He was born April 25, 1971 in St. Charles, IL, the son of Thomas Freeman Mulligan and Elaine Gay (Pucci) Mulligan. Quinn attended St. Patrick Catholic School in St. Charles and went on to graduate as valedictorian at Marmion Academy in Aurora, IL. He received his bachelor’s degree in Music Theatre from Northwestern University’s School of Communication in Evanston, IL.
Quinn loved swimming and diving almost since birth and eventually would compete for three years on Marmion’s varsity diving team. He was outgoing and drew a crowd wherever he went, often as an actor or musician or dancer, but always as a friend. Quinn began singing and acting in middle school, continuing through college, and later as a professional in Los Angeles, CA. Some of his roles included: Daddy Warbucks in “Annie,” Fagin in “Oliver,” and Joseph in “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.” Door County’s Peninsula Players were so impressed that they allowed Quinn to perform as Lt. Dawson in their “A Few Good Men” as a nonunion actor.
He was also an accomplished flute, piccolo, and piano player, as well as a gymnast. Quinn was a lifetime writer and voracious reader of everything from literary classics to popular magazines, and he always loved reminiscing about 1980’s pop culture, films, and music. Quinn's smile, spirit, and wit will be very deeply missed.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Guisti and Grace Pucci and Donald and Susan Mulligan; and other relatives.
Quinn's memory will live on in the hearts of his parents, Thomas and Elaine Mulligan of Bryan, TX and Sister Bay, WI; his siblings, Casey (Julia) Mulligan of Chicago, IL and Erin (John) McFarlane of Houston, TX; many loving nieces and nephews; other relatives; and friends.
His life will be honored with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Fr. Thomas Farrell at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Stella Maris Parish-Sister Bay site, 2410 S. Bay Shore Dr., in the community his family had spent their summers since the 1970's. Quinn will be laid to rest in St. Rosalia Cemetery in Sister Bay.
Visitation for family and friends will be held at the church on Saturday, February 18, 2023 from 9:45 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Quinn's name to National Alliance on Mental Illness for Kane-South, DeKalb, and Kendall counties, all in Illinois.
