Ronald Henry Stromen, 87, of Sister Bay, passed away February 15, 2022.
He was born May 7, 1934, in New Richmond, WI, son of the late Sherman E. and Isabelle (Campeau) Stromen. Ronald graduated from New Richmond High School in 1952 and received his undergraduate in education from UW Eau Claire. He went on to receive his master’s degree in teaching from Drake University.
Ron served his country in the U.S. Army from 1955-1957.
On June 6, 1960, he married Janet Lee Fontaine in Mosinee, WI. Ron had owned his own trucking business and had taught mathematics and computer science in the Ames, Iowa School system and Iowa State University.
He was a member of Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church in Ellison Bay, and former member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church and Bethesda Lutheran Church in Ames, IA. Ron was an accomplished salmon and walleye fisherman, and carpenter. He also helped with church vacation bible school.
Survived by his wife, Janet of Sister Bay; two children, Marc (Paige) Stromen of Brentwood, TN, Beth (John) Humble of Brentwood, TN; five grandchildren, Carson, Hudson and Evan Stromen, Denver and Ruger Humble; and his brother, Sherman (Mary) Stromen.
A memorial service will be held at Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church on Saturday, July 2, 2022 with Rev. James Honig officiating. Friends may call at the church July 2, 2022 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. For those unable to attend you will be able to watch live at Shepherd of the Bay's web site with direction to their You Tube page at 11:00 am July 2, 2022.
