Sharon Ann Beard

     Sharon Ann Beard, 81, formerly of the Town of Liberty Grove, passed away, Monday, April 29, 2024 at Serenity Spring Senior Living at Scandia Village in Sister Bay surrounded by her family.

     She was born on Valentine's Day in 1943 in Sturgeon Bay, the daughter of Lloyd Albert Grovogel and Dorothy Mae (Maples) Grovogel. Sharon attended Sturgeon Bay High School.

     She married James Kellstrom in 1958. They shared several years of marriage before James died March 6, 1969.

     Sharon met Albert "Mickey" John Beard in the summer of 1969, and they were united in marriage on December 6, 1969 at the Sister Bay Moravian Church. Together, Sharon and Albert resided in the Town of Liberty Grove. 

     She welcomed numerous guests as a hostess at the various restaurants she worked at over the years: The Viking in Ellison Bay, the Door Deli in Sister Bay, and then also at the Shoreline Restaurant in Ellison Bay.

     Sharon and Albert owned the Fashion Emporium in Ellison Bay for seven years in the 1970's.

     When she wasn't working, she was caring for her family and home. Sharon was a "sun goddess" who enjoyed sun tanning as soon as the weather permitted in April all the way until it became too cold in November. She was an avid bingo player and loved going to the (Oneida) Casino.

     Above all, Sharon loved her family and will live on in the hearts of her husband, Albert, with who she shared over 54 years of marriage; children, Jesse Kellstrom of Ellison Bay, Carla (Dennis) Kellstrom of Sturgeon Bay, Shelly (Bart) Olson, and Kelly (Brad Ohnesorge) Scoon, both of Ellison Bay; grandchildren, Shawna Martin, David Martin, Jessie-Rose Scholz, and Joshua Martin, Corey Van Egeren, Deanna Van Egeren, and Kristine Mclain, Sarina (Skylar) Oger, Keegan (fiancée, Katie) Olson, Derek (Abey) Beard, Jonathon "Jonny" Haskell, and Landon Olson, and Autumn Scoon and Alex Scoon; great-grandson, Kyler Olson; siblings, Bonnie Kolberg of Sturgeon Bay, Nanci (Richard) Moore of Sturgeon Bay, Gary Grovogel of Birch Harbor, ME, and Scott Grovogel of Sturgeon Bay; sister-in-law, Arleen Birr of Green Bay, WI; and other relatives.

     She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband; children, Kenneth "Kenny" Kellstrom and Stacey Beard; and other relatives.
     
     Sharon's life will be honored privately by family with a graveside service to be held in Rowley's Bay Cemetery in the Town of Liberty Grove.
 
     Memorials may be given in her name for the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org).
