Shirley Repp Obituary

Shirley Eleanor Graham Repp, age 90, of Ellison Bay, WI, passed away Sunday night, October 6, 2024 at her home in the loving arms of her husband, George "Pete" Francis Repp III.

She was born August 23, 1934 in Chicago, IL to Ralph Bernard Graham and Helen May (Viall) Graham. She graduated from Downers Grove North High School with the class of 1952. Shirley went on to attend the University of Colorado Boulder, where she was a member of the Chi Omega sorority.

On June 19, 1954, she was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, George "Pete" Francis Repp III, at First United Methodist Church in Downers Grove.

Together, they resided in Downers Grove, IL and Glen Ellyn, IL where they raised their family. Shirley volunteered in her children's schools, was active in PTOs, and was also a member of Easterseals and P.E.O.

In 1994, Shirley and Pete retired to the place they loved most: Door County, WI, which holds generations of family memories dating back to 1926 when the Repp family built a first home on North Bay, in the Town of Liberty Grove, north of Baileys Harbor, WI. The Graham Family also acquired property in Northern Door in the 1960's, adding to the family memories that current generations continue to build on.

After moving to Door County permanently, Shirley and Pete attended Church of the Holy Nativity in the Town of Jacksonport. She volunteered at Bargains in Sister Bay, the Door County Maritime Museum, Birch Creek Music Performance Center in Egg Harbor, and was an active member of Chapter EE of P.E.O., Egg Harbor, a worldwide philanthropic educational organization empowering women since 1869.

Shirley loved to cook, entertain, read, garden, bird watch and collect antiques. But, most of all, she was a loving, caring, nurturing and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and Gigi. Shirley loved nothing more than to be surrounded by her family. Her fantastic sense of humor and laugh will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Shirley's love will live on in the hearts of her husband, Pete with whom she was blessed to share over 70 years of marriage; four children; Mike (Angela) Repp of Ellison Bay, WI, Gordon (Kim) Repp of Lake Bluff, IL, Jennifer Brundige of Elburn, IL, and Mary (Mark) Doughty of Chippewa Falls, WI; twelve grandchildren, Nathaniel (Erin) Repp, Wesley (Stacey) Repp, Ryan (Kelly) Repp, Aspyn Repp, Graham Repp, Lauryn Repp, Cheyne Repp, Clayton (Melissa) Brundige, Maggie Brundige, Levi (Kalina) Brundige, Nicholas (Harly) Doughty, and Emily (Matt) Seig; nine great-grandchildren, Ellison Repp, Brandt Repp, Chase Repp, Courtney Repp, Jack Repp, Nora Repp, Sophia Brundige, Warren Brundige, and Sailor Doughty, with two more on the way; niece, Melissa (Dennis) Koepsel of Ephraim, WI.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Adele Wolf and son-in-law, Lyle Brundige.

Shirley requested that no public services be held. She will be laid to rest in the Ellison Bay Cemetery with a private committal.

Memorials can be made in Shirley's name to the: P.E.O. Foundation, HSA Scholarship Fund (MAIL TO: P.E.O. Chapter EE, c/o Ann Glessner, P.O. Box 490, Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235).
