Thomas Joseph Rentmeester

Thomas "Tom" Joseph Rentmeester, age 79 of Fish Creek, passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at St. Vincent Hospital.

He was born on May 21, 1946, to the late Arnold and Bernice (Vanden Langenberg) Rentmeester at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay. He was a 1964 graduate of Preble High School - Green Bay. After high school, Tom continued his education at St. Norbert College - DePere and graduated with a bachelor's degree in business management in 1968.

Tom was united in marriage to Honore Jane Patterson on July 12, 1969, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Green Bay. The couple was blessed with two children, Anne and Tom.

Tom worked for the Wisconsin Bell telephone company, now AT&T, retiring at age 53. In the fall of 1999, he built his home in Fish Creek, where he and Honore resided until his death. In 2003, he unretired and started a career as a real estate appraiser, running Peninsula Appraisal for 13 years in the Door County area. Tom enjoyed golfing, skiing, sailing, worldwide traveling and gardening. He also generously volunteered to his church and community.

Tom is survived by his wife, Honore; children, Anne (J.P.) Pomerenke and Tom (Tina) Rentmeester; grandsons, Leo Pomerenke, Oskar Pomerenke, Reece Rentmeester, and Luke Rentmeester; siblings, Steve (Betty) Rentmeester, Pat (Gail) Rentmeester, Chris (Jim) Speaker, Barb (Joe) Weininger, and Brad (Kim) Rentmeester. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Tom will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 22, 2025, at Stella Maris Parish - Fish Creek Site - 4012 WI-42, Fish Creek, WI 54212 - with Fr. Thomas Farrell officiating. Visitation will be held at church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Burial will be at a later date at Blossomberg Cemetery in Fish Creek. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the Rentmeester family for a charity that will be chosen at a later date.
