Wallace Joseph Daubner, age 87, of Ellison Bay, was called home to Jesus on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at his home.
Wallace met his first wife Barbara while she was vacationing in Door County over the Fourth of July in 1958. On June 27, 1959, the couple was united in marriage at St. Mary Catholic Church in Chilton, WI. Wallace and Barbara were married for 63 years and had five beautiful children. Wallace worked at Peterson Builders Incorporated for more than 25 years as a machinist. After the closing of PBI, he worked at Bay Shipbuilding and Palmer Johnson Yachts as a machinist. He was widely known for his ability to fix machinery. Wallace loved the outdoors, spending countless hours fishing and hunting with his family. He also loved working on his 14-acre hobby farm and was famous for his raspberries and peaches. A deep catholic faith carried him through his life and he credits his grandfather for passing this on to him. Wally and Barbara traveled to Fatima, Portugal bringing home a greater respect for their faith. After that annual public square rosary rallies were celebrated. Deepening his faith, he was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus. The family that prays together, stays together. After the death of his first wife Barabara, Wallace married Patricia Gureski on August 20, 2022. Wallace and Patricia spent three years of marriage enjoying traveling to see relatives, working in the garden, playing cards and chess.
Wallace will be missed by his wife, Patricia; children, Teresa (David) Ochsenbauer, Brian Daubner, Brenda Zarth, Julie (Dan) Dozer, and Nathan (Jennifer) Daubner; 16 grandchildren, Brianna, Joe, Joe, Jessica, Gabe, Rachael, Johnathon, Catherine, Nathaniel, Josephine, Nicholas, Julia, Elizabeth, Simeon, Samuel, and RoseMarie; six great-grandchildren, William, Stephen, Marjorie, Juniper, Alanah and Clara; sibling, Florence Hanson; further survived by nieces, nephews, in-laws, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara; parents, Joseph and Irene Daubner; son-in-law, Jeff Zarth; grandsons, Benjamin, and Eliakim; granddaughter, Josephine; great-grandchild, Carter; brother and sisters-in-law: Kenneth, Marilynn (Harvey), Donald, Beverly (Donald), Marlene (Danny), Mary, David, and Robert.
The family would like to thank Door County Medical Center, Aurora Baycare, and Unity Hospice for their care and compassion.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Stella Maris - Sister Bay Site with Fr. Thomas Farrell as celebrant.
