Donnette G. Hatch

January 12, 1953 ~ January 29, 2021 (age 68)

Obituary

Donette G. Hatch, 68, of Sister Bay passed away Friday evening January 29, 2021.

She was born January 12, 1953 in Sturgeon Bay the daughter of the late Donald and Audrey (Anderson) Hatch. Donette graduated from Gibraltar High School before attending Bethel College and receiving her degree. She then moved to California and while there she worked for Gibraltar Savings & Loan and spent time with the airlines. She eventually found her true life's passion in horticulture. After extensive coursework, she was able to start her own business, which she brought to Door County when she returned there full time to care for her mother.

Donette loved to travel, wanting to visit each state capital building that she traveled through, taking time to smell the roses.  She enjoyed photography and cooking, loved the Green Bay Packers and her cat Tabitha.

She also loved to sing and had taken up learning to play the guitar. She would say there is only two kinds of music worth listening to, Country and Western. Above all, Donette cherished her relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

She was someone with a good sense of humor and a great laugh.  One day while sitting having lunch with her, I (her brother, David), noticed that she had a pair of mismatched socks on.  I casually mentioned that I liked her choice of socks that day, without hesitation she replied, “Yeah I’m glad you like them. I have another pair just like them at home.” LOL

Her family that survives is two brothers, Dale (Barbara) Hatch of Racine, David (Lynn) Hatch of Sister Bay; nephews, Nathan (Jesi) Carlin (Georgina); great-nieces and great-nephew, Phoenix, CJ, and Elayna; aunt, Signe; cousins, Sheryl (Merrill) Craig, Susan (Jim) Cromer, Steve Anderson, Cam and Lindsay Hatch.

“Our family is grateful to Pastor Ed House and the Door of Life Church for their continual love and support.”

Casperson Funeral Home in Sister Bay and Door County Crematory is assisting the Hatch family. Expressions of sympathy, memories, and photos of Donette may be shared with her family through her tribute page at www.caspersonfuneralhome.com.
